Noteworthy Quote

Few Hours @ Terminal 3, Changi Airport

Decided to bring the children to Terminal 3 to chill-out this afternoon prior to church service in Singapore Expo. We had not been to T3 for some months and were pleasant to see some new play areas for children.

First, at basement 2, there is a new kid's corner where parents can let their legs take a break by letting their kids watch their favourite cartoons from Cartoon Network. This spot was great for Jayden as he was able to enjoy his favourite cartoons such as "Batman", "Ben 10", "Speed Racer", etc.

As we walked further down in basement 2, towards the food court, there were some fun hands-on exhibits, courtesy of the Asian Civilisation and Peranakan Museum. There were geometric games, puzzles and embossed printings to help visitors understand more about the Asian and Peranakan culture. Joann and Jayden enjoyed playing the puzzles and making embossed prints.

Thereafter, we proceeded to 3-Top (level 3) for some window-shopping. Just when Jayden was getting restless, we saw a little playground where he could just have some fun while I popped by next door for a Celio sale, yeah!

The few hours at T3 was sufficient for us to chill-out - the children had some fun while Aileen and I had a little shopping and coffee break. The airport is currently revamping their viewing gallery to Changi Aviation Gallery which provides a new aircraft viewing experience. If you are looking for a good place to hang-out with your kids for 2 to 3 hours, the airport is a good bet.

Work is Essential to Growth

Have just completed my work for today :-)

Have several deadlines to meet from now till Apr 2010... Stressed but somehow learning to enjoy the journey. Learning to focus on the fruits of work - the sense of satisfaction and fulfillment when you grow yourself by taking on challenges to do your best amid tight schedule and somewhat stepping into unfamiliar zones... And in return, stepping into an unfamiliar zone widens one's horizon. This is what many people term as 'Stepping out of Comfort Zone'. It is easier said than done - it takes one to look beyond the current pain and focus on the beneficial end results. Thus, what you focus on is important...

What for 2010?

2010 came like a blink of the eyes. Time seems to pass faster especially when you get older...

For me, 2009 was a year with some rewarding accomplishments & realizations:
- God is faithful when I am faithless,
- a greater appreciation of my family and loved ones around,
- a healthier me as a result of regular exercises,
- accomplishing key projects at work,
- friendship made at work,

And of course, on the other side of the scale, is a list of things which I have yet to fulfill...

With God's grace, I pray the following will come to pass for me in 2010:
- letting go of myself to embrace what God has in store for me,
- staying focused and better utilize my time to accomplish my goals, both new and roll-over from 2009.

Thoughts that Matter

Been some months since I read a book. Few days ago, bought a book titled "Prayer, Does It Make Any Difference?" by one of the most inspirational spiritual writer of our day, Philip Yancey. Just read the Preface and am captivated by the thoughts of the writer as he shared about his near-death experience - In the face of imminent death, he felt that what matters reduces down to few basic questions:
  • Who do I love?
  • Who will I miss?
  • How have I spent my life?
  • Am I ready for what's next?
The answers to these questions should set the direction of my life; putting top priorities to things that matter. Waiting for the final moment to realise what I have missed, will surely results in deep regrets. Praying that I can keep in mind, these questions daily and remember never to let the things that are of little value, to overwhelm me and suck my time up for things that matter for eternity.
